Join our team as a Statutory Inspector
Help us keep our buildings safe and compliant for customers and colleagues. As a Statutory Inspector, you'll play a vital role in carrying out inspections, checks, and testing across a wide range of properties. Your work will ensure we meet essential health, safety, and fire regulations, providing reassurance that our homes and facilities are safe for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled health and safety inspections across residential blocks, multi-occupancy properties, offices, community centres, sheltered schemes, and commercial buildings.
* Conduct regular checks on fire safety systems, alarms, water hygiene, first aid resources, and other building safety features.
* Work to daily, weekly, monthly, six-monthly, and annual inspection schedules, ensuring all records are completed accurately.
* Record findings consistently using reporting forms, apps, or digital systems, updating central records to confirm inspections have been carried out.
* Report faults and issues through the correct channels, providing weekly summaries to stakeholders for action.
* Maintain and manage accurate electronic records on property safety software solutions.
* Engage positively with residents on property safety matters, supporting the organisation's Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy.
* Attend training, meetings, and learning sessions to stay up to date with legislation and best practice.
* Champion Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all decisions and report Health & Safety concerns promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
* A full UK driving licence.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to follow schedules and adapt to changes.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and partners.
* Experience working collaboratively to deliver high-quality services.
* Customer service skills with the ability to engage respectfully and professionally.
* Digital confidence, including using Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive) and maintaining accurate records.
* Knowledge of building-related legislation, fire safety, and workplace safety (desirable).
* Experience in statutory inspections or recording/reporting inspection data (desirable).
