Now, we’re looking to expand our talented Cell R&D Function with a passionate Scientist ready to drive innovation at the forefront of battery technology. We are seeking Researcher in the field of Semi-Solid-State Batteries (SSSB) or All-Solid-State Batteries (ASSB) to join the Fundamental Research Team, led by Dr Shayan Meysami. Reporting to one of our Principal Scientists, this role is ideal for a driven and pragmatic researcher who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering real-world results – someone who is on track to make meaningful contributions to the field. Key Responsibilities Develop, validate and benchmark key SSSB/ASSB cell components, namely catholytes, anolytes, electrolyte additives, high-capacity active materials and separators. Assemble R&D-scale SSSB/ASSB cells and conduct electrochemical tests to understand the impact of materials chemistry, integration and electrode design on cell performance. Cross-functionally work with other teams within the Cell R&D to evaluate cell components at materials, electrode, and cell levels. Analyse the experimental data, document and report the results. Assist with the smooth daily operation of dry, wet and analytical labs. Own, operate and maintain benchtop Cell R&D prototyping line. Drive scale-up efforts from concepts to multi-layer pouch cells. What We're Looking For The candidate must have/demonstrate: 3-5 years of research experience in the field of SSSB/ASSB. Hands-on experience in designing, prototyping and testing research cells. Solid knowledge of SSSB/ASSB in areas such as materials chemistry, interface science, failure modes and suppression strategies. Solid knowledge of materials science, chemistry, analytical sciences, and lithium-ion cells. Knowledge of cell electrochemistry. Ideal Background A graduate degree in materials science, chemistry or electrochemistry. Prior roles at industry-leading battery developers or manufacturers will be Advantageous. Why Join Us?
