Spire Norwich Hospital is seeking a motivated and knowledge Urology Nurse Specialist to join our expert team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering specialist care, supporting patients through their urology pathway, and helping shape the future of our service.
As a Urology Specialist Nurse, you will provide advance clinical care and support for patients with a wide range of urological conditions, including both surgical and outpatient treatments. Working closely with consultants and the wider MDT, you will act as a key point of contact for patients, offering education, support and coordination of care throughout their journey.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. To work closely with the Director of Clinical Services, Nursing Teams and Consultant Urologists to provide an expert nursing service to Urology patients.
2. To provide education and training to all levels of staff within and outside the hospital where there is an identified need.
3. To provide leadership in the area of Urology and act as a resource and role model of advanced nursing practice.
4. To assist the Director of Clinical Services in planning the service needs, developing the scope of the service and participating in meetings and working groups as required.
5. To promote excellent customer service throughout the hospital, facilitating and co-ordinating corporate and local customer service initiatives and providing appropriate support to colleagues.
6. To support staff within the hospital to deliver high quality services to patients and their families.
7. To continually maintain competence and show evidence of professional development as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Who We’re Looking For:
8. NMC registered Nurse
9. Qualified in appropriate clinical skills – cannulation, venepuncture, male catheterisation, intravesical drug administration, stent removal
10. Significant Urological experience at a senior level
11. Experience of working within teams and carrying case load
12. Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
13. Proficient mentor and clinical supervisor
14. Ability to manage teams (Desirable)
