A well-established, highly reputable organisation based near Scarborough is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant:
As the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing tax-related financial data for statutory accounts and group reporting
2. Collaborating with Group Tax to prepare and submit VAT and corporation tax returns
3. Managing daily and weekly bank reconciliations and posting transactions across overseas accounts
4. Supporting cash forecasting, payment validations, and treasury reporting
5. Issuing intercompany and internal recharge invoices, including payroll allocations
6. Assisting with survey returns and financial reporting for overseas entities
7. Administering company credit cards and reconciling balances
8. Supporting ad hoc finance projects and reporting requirements
Assistant Accountant – Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this Assistant Accountant position, you should ideally have:
9. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar finance or accounting role
10. AAT Level 3 (or above) or currently studying – study support is available
11. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
12. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
13. Experience using accounting software – SAP experience (especially S4 Hana) would be beneficial
14. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
