We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is committed to supporting pupils as they transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1.
Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all children feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their best.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
* Provide one-to-one and small group support, particularly in phonics, reading, writing and maths
* Help pupils settle into routines and develop independence and confidence
* Assist with classroom preparation, resources and displays
* Support behaviour management in line with school policies
* Observe pupils’ progress and provide feedback to the teaching team
* Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
* Uphold safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Have experience working with children in a primary school setting (Year 1 or EYFS experience desirable)
* Be patient, caring and enthusiastic about supporting young learners
* Have a good understanding of early phonics and basic KS1 learning expectations
* Be able to work well as part of a team and use initiative when required
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
* Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant / Childcare) – desirable but not essential
