Job
As a Senior Business Development Manager (Apprenticeships), you will take ownership of business development and employer engagement across Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Lincoln, and Northampton. You will lead sales activity, develop strategic partnerships, and ensure apprenticeship and work-based learning targets are met.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the development of employer partnerships across the East Midlands
*
Driving apprenticeship and work-based learning growth to meet start and revenue targets
*
Developing and implementing effective sales strategies tailored to employer needs
*
Preparing proposals, presentations, and contracts for prospective employers
*
Attending networking events, employer meetings, and regional skills events
*
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth learner onboarding and programme delivery
*
Providing market insight, supporting bid development, and contributing to strategic planning
*
Mentoring and guiding junior business development staff where applicable
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be commercially focused, with a strong track record in apprenticeship sales, employer engagement, or work-based learning business development.
You will bring:

Proven success in achieving apprenticeship starts, revenue, or business development targets
*
Strong knowledge of apprenticeship funding, delivery models, and work-based learning frameworks
*
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
*
Ability to develop, grow, and convert new business opportunities
*
Confidence working autonomously and managing regional priorities
*
Leadership experience or the ability to guide a small business development team
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the East Midlands
*
A passion for skills, apprenticeships, and workforce development
