We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on a pivotal role within our client's growing water division. You will be responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of key projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates and develop detailed project budgets. Monitor project costs and identify areas for optimisation. Manage the tendering process, including preparing documents and negotiating contracts. Source materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitiveness. Administer contracts, including preparing variations and claims, and ensuring compliance. Implement cost control measures and track project expenditure. Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders. Measure and quantify construction work for interim and final payments. Identify and assess project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective risk management. Skills and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in water/wastewater projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management principles. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and the Microsoft Office suite. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Preferred: Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS/CICES) or working towards it.
