Establish a positive relationship with people and be alert to their changing needs and conditions. They could be old, disabled or sick, or families who are highly dependent on this service for personal care, reporting to Team Leader if the person appears to be at risk or his/her condition alters. 2. Provide personal care to people in line with directorate policies and procedures. This will include dressing/undressing, assisting with personal hygiene including shower/bathing toileting, catheter care, checking for bedsores, feeding including special dietary needs. 3. Carry out practical tasks for the Service User in line with directorate policies and procedures and National Minimum Care Standards These will include bed making/changing, emptying commodes including chemical commodes laundry Prepare drinks, paying regard to any special diet required. Safe disposal of bodily waste. 4. Read, respond, and act upon risk assessments, manual handling assessments, medication profiles and any other written information within the person home. 2 5. Record and pass information effectively, accurately and concisely between the people we care for and, cares colleagues and other agencies. 6. Attend and contribute in meetings, reviews and case conferences. 7. In line with National Minimum Care Standards, Skills Training and Social Services, assist in the induction of new care workers. 8. Work in co-operation with other carers whilst maintain confidentiality with regard to service users' condition, personal and monetary affairs 9. Respond to emergencies when available. 10. In line with National Minimum Care Standards, Skills Training and the Directorates Policies and Procedures, undertake training and development activities for the benefit of self, colleagues and the service. 11. Be alert to any adverse situation which arise overnight and respond appropriately in emergencies by obtaini9ng assistance from the police or other relevant services. 12. Be a confident, safe driver taking care when driving the vehicles provided by the Directorate. This includes daily inspection of the bodywork lights indicators and weekly checks of oil/water in line with the Transport Policy.
