Job Role : Junior Maintenance Engineer Industry : E-commerce Warehousing & Logistics Contract : Permanent What's On Offer Competitive hourly rate: £15.00 per hour Stable shift pattern: Monday to Friday, no weekends Career development: Opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and progress your career Modern facility: Work in a state-of-the-art e-commerce warehouse Permanent position: Long-term stability with a reputable employer Shift Details Monday to Friday: 5:00pm - 1:30am 40 hours per week Afternoon/Evening shift - ideal for those who prefer later working hours Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on warehouse equipment and machinery Maintain, repair, and fix conveyor belt systems to ensure continuous operation Diagnose and resolve conveyor belt faults, including belt tracking, motor issues, and sensor problems Respond to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns during shift Assist senior engineers with repairs and installations Conduct regular safety checks and equipment inspections Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Liaise with operations teams to minimise downtime Essential Requirements Minimum 1 year of maintenance engineering experience in a warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environment Proven experience maintaining and repairing conveyor belt systems Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles Good problem-solving abilities and practical approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills Flexibility and reliability Right to work in the UK Desirable Skills Electrical or mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) Experience working in e-commerce, logistics, or automated warehouse environments Knowledge of warehouse automation equipment, forklift trucks, or material handling systems Basic IT skills for logging maintenance tasks Understanding of health and safety regulations in industrial environments We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high number of applications.
