The role
– Sprinkler Design Engineer
My client is the UK’s leading supplier of fire detection and fire protection systems. They design, install, and maintain various fire extinguishing and detection systems for large projects and small standalone products. With over 200 employees and offices across the UK, they are a prominent name in the industry.
Responsibilities include:
* Producing high-quality, standards-compliant fire protection sprinkler system designs within deadlines, maintaining professional relationships with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
* Creating and coordinating fire protection sprinkler system installation drawings and models.
* Preparing hydraulic calculations.
* Conducting on-site surveys as needed.
* Participating in coordination meetings.
* Checking designs for compliance with standards and project specifications.
* Mentoring junior design team members.
Experience, skills, and knowledge required:
* Extensive experience in designing fire protection sprinkler systems.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for technical drawings.
* Experience with hydraulic calculations using CanuteFHC software.
Qualifications preferred:
* Knowledge of LPC Sprinkler rules.
* Minimum of LCPB Basic Design Qualification (training available if needed).
* Additional LPCB Intermediate and FHC Design Qualifications are advantageous.
* Knowledge of FM and NFPA standards is beneficial.
