Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central Bedfordshire
Sector: Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance
The Role
You will assist with measurement, pricing, and valuation of works using the NHF Schedule of Rates, ensuring client contract compliance and strong commercial performance across social housing maintenance contracts.
Key Responsibilities
NHF SOR Application
* Accurately measure completed repairs and maintenance works
* Apply the correct NHF SOR codes to maximise revenue and ensure compliance
Valuations & Variations
* Support interim and final monthly valuations for client approval
* Process variations and additional works in line with contract requirements
Subcontractor Management
* Assist with managing subcontractors
* Review payment applications against site progress and NHF SOR rates
Performance Monitoring
* Track productivity, labour costs, and material usage
* Help ensure jobs are profitable and appropriately resourced
Reporting & Commercial Support
* Support CVR reports, forecasting, and commercial analysis
* Assist the senior commercial team with accurate financial reporting
What We’re Looking For
Experience
* Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role
* Social housing or maintenance experience preferred
SOR Knowledge
* Strong working knowledge of NHF SOR (v7, v8, or similar)
Technical Skills
* Confident user of Microsoft Excel
