Overview
The National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) will transform the future of rehabilitation for people who have experienced injury or illness. Opening in November 2025, the NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some world-class rehabilitation facilities. With academic partnerships, research and innovation and training embedded at the NRC, rehabilitation will be central to clinical practice.
We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated physiotherapist with significant experience in neurological rehab to join this journey to rehabilitation excellence, transforming outcomes for patients. You will become a key part of shaping the service and will contribute, with other professional colleagues, to the delivery of the future of rehabilitation. Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a specialist service in complex rehabilitation assessment, advice and treatment for patients, including neuro and complex musculoskeletal trauma injuries in an in-patient environment. You will be supported by a team of Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioners with full training and support to develop your clinical, leadership, teaching and service development skills. You will demonstrate effective communication, prioritisation and organisational skills within a cohesive multidisciplinary team, whilst managing a complex clinical caseload from assessment to discharge or transfer of care. You will receive regular supervision and appraisal and will be involved in service development, audit, research and implementation of evidence-based practice. Job responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and progress treatment interventions using clinical reasoning and decision-making to achieve identified patient goals.
* Work with, and delegate to, Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioners to optimise patient rehabilitation.
* Facilitate annual appraisal and personal development planning for relevant members of the Physiotherapy Team.
* Participate in the education of Physiotherapy and multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications
* BSc honours or equivalent in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of maintaining professional competence through CPD
Desirable
* Member of CIG
* First line management course
* Clinical Educators Course
* Post-graduate training in specialty
Experience and skills
* Essential: broad Band 5 rotational experience; experience in complex rehabilitation in-patient care; delegation and supervision experience; ability to contribute to clinical education; awareness of best practices and guidelines; IT skills
* Desirable: Band 6 experience; neuro/trauma experience; audit, supervising students; respiratory care experience
Planning and organisation
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload; time management; delegation

* Able to travel to NRC site; security checks; out-of-hours duties; travel within and beyond the Trust; maintain competence in respiratory care where appropriate
