Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services.
You will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary to meet patients' needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a positive impact on patients’ lives.
What you’ll be doing day to day.
Providing health advice through focused conversations and offering accurate answers.
Your duties will include:
1. Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions, while ensuring safe supply of medicines.
3. Complying with legal and professional standards in Boots.
4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing dispensing losses.
What you’ll need to have.
Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required; if not completed, training will be supported within 6 months.
Opportunities for further development include achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services and registering with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) role. Salary and benefits will reflect your professional development.
