Are you an experienced Early Years Support Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the world of Special Educational Needs? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashford who brings hands-on experience in early childhood settings to support children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with SEN, particularly those in early years or with early developmental needs.
* Use your knowledge of early childhood development to support speech, motor, and emotional growth.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment tailored to individual learning styles.
* Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans (EHCPs and IEPs).
* Encourage communication, play-based learning, and emotional regulation strategies.
* Support personal care and daily routines, ensuring comfort and dignity for all students.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as an Early Years Support Worker or in a nursery/early childhood setting.
* Understanding of child development, early intervention, and SEN strategies.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable.
* Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
* Have anupdated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)and anenhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
