Senior Staff Registered Mental Health Nurse (Female Acute Ward)
Priory Hospital Bristol – Location: Priory Hospital Bristol, Bristol. Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time (37.5 h per week). Compensation: £39,392 per year.
This role offers fast access to treatment for a range of mental health concerns and addictions. It is part of a compassionate team focused on evidence‑based, personalized care. You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities to support patient wellbeing, dignity and treatment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver prescribed care to a defined group of patients/Service users that reflect their individual needs.
* Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with the patient, their carer/family, taking account of patient choice and wishes; and act as the patient's named nurse.
* Evaluate and review care plans regularly with the patient/Service User.
* Contribute to a team approach to patient care with the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Build relationships and effectively communicate and engage with external professionals and stakeholders.
* Accurately assess patient needs and evaluate progress through observation and engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Registered Adult Nurse.
* 6‑12 months post‑registration experience (or equivalent).
* Active NMC Registration.
* Completion of a preceptorship or equivalent programme.
* Strong understanding of NMC standards and guidelines.
* Experience within Mental Health and/or Learning Disability Nursing (essential).
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Confidence in using IT systems.
* Positive, resilient attitude and ability to support patients through the highs and lows of care.
