We're recruiting on behalf of a wellestablished manufacturing business in Livingston who are looking for a qualified Management Accountant to be their goto finance partner. This is a handson, highimpact role where your insight will genuinely influence decisions across the business. You'll be joining a busy, collaborative finance team and working closely with operations and commercial colleagues - translating figures into actions and helping drive performance.
What you'll be getting stuck into
Management Reporting & Insight
1. Producing monthly management accounts with clear, meaningful commentary
2. Analysing revenue, margins, costs and key drivers across UK entities
3. Variance analysis vs budget, forecast and prior year
4. Turning numbers into insights that nonfinance colleagues actually understand
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
5. Supporting budgets, forecasts and reforecasts
6. Maintaining and improving financial models (including scenario analysis)
7. Working with operational teams to reflect realworld trading
8. Spotting risks and opportunities before they become headaches
Business Partnering
9. Acting as a trusted finance partner to operational and commercial teams
10. Supporting pricing decisions, cost control and margin improvement
11. Challenging assumptions (constructively!) and encouraging accountability
12. Championing financial awareness beyond the finance function
Cost Control & Margin Focus
13. Digging into materials, labour, overheads and logistics costs
14. Identifying efficiencies and costsaving opportunities
15. Supporting initiatives to boost gross margin and performance
16. Monitoring KPIs like margin %, cost per unit and volume trends
Working Capital & Cash
17. Analysing debtors, creditors and inventory performance
18. Supporting cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
19. Assisting with invoice discounting reporting and reconciliations
MonthEnd & Reporting Excellence
20. Supporting the monthend close and key journals
21. Ensuring data accuracy across management reporting
22. Working closely with Financial Accounting for aligned reporting
️ Systems & Process Improvement
23. Improving reporting packs, dashboards and templates
24. Helping embed Business Central and reporting tools
25. Driving automation, efficiency and better data integrity
Supporting Finance Leadership
26. Providing insight to the CFO and Financial Controller
27. Supporting business cases, strategic projects and investments
28. Getting involved in adhoc deep dives that really matter
What we're looking for
29. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
30. Solid background in management accounting and analysis
31. Manufacturing or multientity experience (highly desirable)
32. Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (Business Central a plus)
33. Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and VAT
34. Comfortable juggling priorities and working independently
