About the role
We are looking for Web and UX Designer, to work on a 6 month fixed term contract. Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at our Aylesbury Campus. The Web and UX Designer will work in our highly experienced Marketing & Skills Development Team and will work alongside the Director of Marketing & Skills Development on this high profile project.
As a Web and UX Designer the successful candidate will:
• Support the implementation of the College’s Marketing Strategy to build the College reputation for high quality technical skills and training.
• Undertake a comprehensive redesign of the College website. Ensure that the website is user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and functional across all devices and platforms.
About you
Formal Qualification:
Degree in IT, Web Technologies, Graphic Design or equivalent
Maths and English qualification at level 2 or higher
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of web design principles and user-centred design processes
Knowledge of content management systems, particularly Joomla
Knowledge of designing websites for educational establishments
An understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, Safeguarding Children and Young People (Every Child Matters) and Vulnerable Adults
Experience:
Proven web design experience in a similar role
Demonstrable graphic design experience, especially in a similar capacity
Experience with design tools such as Sketch or Figma to create design prototype
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Proven experience in editing photo and video resources
Experience using Content Management Systems e.g. WordPress, Joomla
Proven experience in creating engaging copy and content for promotion purposes
Some experience with SEO and using Google Analytics
Skills:
Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web design technologies
Proficiency in graphic and digital design principles, including typography and colour theory
Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Creativity, innovation, and the capacity to independently develop design solutions
Excellent time management skills and an ability to communicate timeframes and deadlines effectively
Excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a range and level of people
