Responsibilities

We are looking for a Design and Technology Technician to join our team to provide technical support to teaching staff and ensure a safe and clean working environment to facilitate high-quality teaching within the faculty.

* Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a daily basis
* Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions
* Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations
* Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required
* Construct and modify apparatus as required, at the request of teachers in the faculty


Pay and Contract

SCP 12 - 17 £25,152.73 - £27,284.70 (FTE: £28,598.00 - £31,022.00)

37 hours per week. 39 weeks per year

Permanent


Qualifications and Skills

* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)
* Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH
* Working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and codes of practices
* Experience of working within a school or similar environment
