About the role
The main purpose of this position is to carry out cutting edge research. The team for this project includes a biochemist, a structural biologist, and a systems biologists with experience in functional genomics. The three will work as closely knit team in a multidisciplinary fashion, taking ownership of their project and happy to collaborate.
Your research will focus on integrated structural biology approaches to study transcription in archaeal organisms including:
1. Extensive experience with the production of recombinant proteins
2. Extensive and proven experience in biomolecular structure determination using
a) cryo-Electron Microscopy
b) cryo-Electron Tomography
c) X-ray crystallography
3.Preferably published in techniques mentioned above

About you
You will need the following skills and experience:
3. Proven track record in recombinant protein purification and handling for structural analyses
4. Proven track record in biomolecular structure determination using X-ray crystallography, cryo-Electron Microscopy and cryo-Electron Tomography
5. Robust experience working with complex molecular machines in vitro and in vivo
6. Preferably published well in the fields of transcription or translation
