An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Governing Body at Onslow Infant School. The Governing Board provides strategic leadership and accountability in school. It has three key functions:
•Overseeing the financial performance of the school and ensuring its funding is effectively utilised
•Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
•Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
There is a current vacancy in the Finance, Staffing and Premises Committee. We are looking for someone with experience in Human Resources who can contribute their expertise.
There are 4 full Governing Board meetings in an academic year, which take place in the evenings at Onslow Infant School. You will be allocated to the Finance, Staffing and Premises Committee, which meets a further 3 times a year via Teams in the evening.
In addition to the meetings, you will be required to visit the school once each term to conduct visits with staff and undertake the required reading of all documentation provided to Governors. Safeguarding training will also need to be completed via The National College.
Please note this is a voluntary role and therefore not paid.
If you would like to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the school office. If you have any enquiries about the scope of the role please phone on the main school number and ask to speak to Katherine Heslop (School Business Manager).
Applications will be reviewed on receipt, and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
