Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive staff to support the Estates Team as a Relief Assistant Caretaker (Barnsley area, West Region). The role requires flexibility around existing commitments and includes duties in catering, cleaning and estates. Working hours are daytime only with a range of contract types such as part‑time, full‑time, term time, permanent, temporary, job share, and options to combine childcare needs during school holidays.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team to maintain a high level of customer service for students and staff.
* Adhere to health and safety, COSHH, risk assessment, and safeguarding procedures.
* Support estate maintenance, cleaning and catering tasks as assigned.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the school.
* Adjust working hours to fit existing commitments (day‑time only, no weekends or evenings).
Qualifications & Requirements
* All posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
* Applicants must not be barred from regulated activity with children.
* Successful candidates will undergo reference checks and an online background search.
* For overseas applicants: an overseas criminal records check for any country/countries where the applicant has lived within the last five years.
* Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH procedures is desirable.
