Mechanical Project Manager Air conditioning West Midlands Location: Midlands Salary: £55,000 basic £350/month car allowance bonus scheme Holidays: 32 days statutory Travel: Heavy travel required (approx. 2,0004,000 miles/month) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong air conditioning background to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a mix of commercial and industrial mechanical projects, typically running one major contract up to £1m alongside several smaller works ranging from £10k. In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for coordinating works, managing site activities, running progress meetings (both on-site and via Teams), and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage mechanical projects up to £1m in value, ensuring full delivery from pre-start through to handover. Oversee multiple smaller projects simultaneously, typically between £10k£50k. Conduct face-to-face and virtual client meetings, building strong relationships with high-end commercial clients. Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient working practices. Produce project reports, progress updates, RAMS, and associated documentation. Coordinate with design teams, procurement, and senior management. Maintain control of project budgets, variations, and programme timelines. Travel extensively across the M1 corridor (North to South) an essential part of the role. Essential Requirements Mechanical background in Air Conditioning (installation/management). Air conditioning experience is essential Experience delivering mechanical projects up to £1m. Comfortable working with high-end clients, maintaining professional standards at all times. Strong communication skills and experience leading formal and informal meetings. Experience in commercial and industrial environments. Ideally Midlands based (Birmingham to Milton Keynes corridor). Must have come from the tools, such as: Plumber, Pipefitter, Air Conditioning Engineer Minimum 5 years experience as a Mechanical Project Manager. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel heavily (2,0004,000 miles/month).
