Manufacturing Engineer Team Leader
Location: Onsite - Cheltenham

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader to lead our manufacturing engineering team. Find out more below!
Role Summary
This role manages a section within the Manufacturing Engineering Team, focusing on process improvements, resolving technical issues, supporting new product launches, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Success requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. The Team Leader supports operational strategies, fosters safety, enhances quality, ensures timely delivery, and helps meet cost targets.
The position is based at our Cheltenham site, working closely with production and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure efficient use of people and resources to meet delivery, quality, and safety standards.
2. Coach and mentor engineers in best practices and problem-solving.
3. Own problem-solving processes, identifying root causes and implementing solutions swiftly.
4. Use data to identify improvements and drive key metrics.
5. Collaborate with production, maintenance, safety, supply chain, and development teams on problem-solving and projects.
6. Support new product, process, automation, and equipment introductions, ensuring safety and quality.
7. Maintain process controls and documentation per ISO9001 standards.
8. Identify hazards via risk assessments and implement measures to promote zero injuries.
9. Continuously improve assembly and testing processes, including automation.
10. Enhance productivity in manufacturing cells and address performance gaps through root cause analysis and countermeasures.
11. Apply lean manufacturing, FMEA, Six Sigma, and other tools.
12. Ensure compliance with systems, procedures, and documentation.
13. Conduct time studies, standard work, takt time, and line balancing.
14. Analyze and propose capital expenditure needs.
15. Ensure manufacturing compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Skills and Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in engineering or related experience with an engineering apprenticeship.
* Experience in continuous improvement within manufacturing.
* Experience with automated equipment and OEE is beneficial.
* Qualifications in Six Sigma, project management, or lean tools are advantageous.
