Locum Criminal Litigation with Prosecutions
Rate negotiable DOE
South East England local authority
3 months initially, with a very high likelihood of extension
36 hours per week, 1 day per fortnight court or office attendance
Venn Group is working with a brilliant local authority in the South East in their search for a Criminal Litigation and Prosecutions Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3 month period.
Requirements:
1. A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor or Barrister
2. Specialism within Criminal Litigation and prosecutions and evidence of practising this post-qualification
3. Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation
Duties/Responsibilities:
4. Possess an expert knowledge and understanding of law and legislation relating to criminal litigation
5. Provide advice on litigious matters surrounding prosecutions
6. Advocate effectively on behalf of the Council before courts, tribunals and other bodies
7. Train and mentor junior lawyers / paralegals as appropriate
