Day Shift 8am to 8pm three shifts per week

Kincarrathie House is a 44 bedded residential home for older people, who puts resident’s needs at the forefront of any decision making to ensure a high standard of care is delivered. The Kincarrathie Trust is a non-profit charitable organisation whereby all income generated is invested back into Kincarrathie House Care Home, Residents and Staff. We are currentlylooking for Care Supervisors, to replace long serving colleagues and will be moving on. You will be part of a team that provides person-centred, high-quality care and support residents maintain their dignity and individuality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

As a Care Supervisor you will have responsibility for daily monitoring of the health, care and social needs of our residents, plus the preparation, implementation and review of care plans as well as the administering of medication and completing accurate mar charts.

You will manage, lead, support and develop other team members, coordinate the running of the shift to ensure staff perform their roles safely and effectively, and ensure the service complies with regulations and legislation.

Support and develop your team through on-hand training, regular one-to-one supervision and identifying training needs, along with annual performance reviews.

Maintain daily electronic care records and be competent in doing so, ensuring they are accurate, up to date and that we excel in line with the Care Inspectorate and SSSC standards.

Monitoring and reviewing resident’s individual care plans, ensuring they are adhered to by all team members. As well as ensuring residents daily progress is recorded and reported accurately.

Report directly to the Senior Management Team and in charge of the shift in the absence of management.

Liaise with multidisciplinary ie, GP’s and other health professionals to coordinate resident’s care.

Liaise with residents, relatives and other visitors, while maintaining confidentiality.

Encourage residents to socialise and maintain their current independence whilst supporting them on an individual basis. Work proactively to ensure residents feel comfortable to express their needs, choices and listen to their views and opinions.

Deal with any issues that arise in a confidential, professional and calm manner.

Work under pressure and be able to make quick thinking decisions.

Can respond to emergency situations and be confident in leading your team in the response.

Work proactively to ensure residents feel comfortable to express their needs and put forward their views.

When required ensure absence shifts are covered and plan for the next shift or future shifts to meet the required staffing level.

Be familiar with SSSC and Care Inspectorate standards and raise any concerns to the Management Team.

Ensure that the Trusts Policies and Procedures are always adhered to.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE FOR THIS JOB REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

You will have a minimum of three years in a Supervisory or Management role working within a caring environment, possess good communication skills and be a good team player. You will hold a minimum of SVQ3 in Health & Social Care, be SSSC registered and hold a recognised Medication administration qualification. A clear security check from PVG Scotland and two satisfactory references are essential.
