We are a well- established PCN teamwho are passionate about developing and delivering excellent quality localservices to meet the needs of our patients. Our practices are keen to work withour team of Clinical Pharmacists, ANP, FCPs, Care coordinators, SocialPrescribing Link Workers, Health and Wellbeing Coach and Mental HealthPractitioner.
Due to the new permanent addition in the ARRS Schemeto introduce Newly Qualified General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team by seekingto employ a newly qualified General Practitioner to work alongside ourpractices and PCN staff.
Main duties of the job
To perform as an autonomous generalpractitioner working independently and with other health care professionals toassess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within aprimary care setting.The successful candidate will rotate through eachof the PCN practices, spending dedicated blocks of time in each, allowing forfull integration into the teams and the opportunity to understand the variedoperational dynamics of each practice. As a newly or recently qualified GP, youwill benefit from daily support from experienced GP colleagues
Therole involves both clinical and administrative work which are based on the EMISclinical system, which is used by all three practices, balancing direct patientcare with involvement in broader PCN initiatives.
Provide expert professional advice topatients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinicalexcellence.
To be professionally accountable andresponsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMCcode of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care isprimary.
The post holder will need to becapable of independent travel across the Eastbourne area and work flexibly tomeet the needs of the Business.
This role is a permanent ARRS position.
About us
Eastbourne East PCN is made up of three GP Practices with a weighted list size of 37,575 spread across a fairly compact urban area. We work closely, collaboratively to deliver care to our patient population, supported by e3healthcare Ltd our own exclusive limited liability company. Princes Park Health Centre and Stone Cross Surgery are both training practices and will therefore offer comprehensive support to newly qualified GPs.
The PCN formed in 2019 with no changes to its original members to date.

Job responsibilities
To undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Manage a broadrange of acute and chronic illnesses, ensuring that care is delivered in linewith evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
Making professional, autonomousdecisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referredfrom other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs ofpatients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease riskfactors and early signs of illness
Participate in themanagement of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, andCOPD, ensuring that patients receive optimal long-term care.
In consultation with patients and inline with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plansfor health
Providing counselling and healtheducation
Recording clear and contemporaneousconsultation notes to agreed standards
Compiling and issuingcomputer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with thepractice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinicallyappropriate
The post-holder will be required tovisit patients during surgery time in an emergency if clinically indicated.
The post-holder will undertake ashare of home visits per week as allocated.
The post-holder will also be required to work a share of the PCN Enhanced Access Service, via a rota system.

Experience
* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of continued professional development
* Newly Qualified General Practitioner with under 2 years from gaining their CCT.
* Not previously been substantively employed at a GP Practice
* General understanding of the primary care contract
* Experience of medicines management
* Experience of ICB initiatives
Qualifications
* Newly Qualified General Practitioner with under 2 years from gaining their CCT.
* MRCGP
* General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training CCT
* Full GMC registration
* National Performers List registration (England), noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation
* Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
* Evidence of current validation
* Evidence of last appraisal
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
