What you’ll be doing Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and social, emotional needs Working 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils stay engaged and develop confidence Assisting with communication, emotional regulation and daily routines Using clear, consistent strategies recommended by teachers and the SEN team Helping create accessible learning activities and positive classroom environments Building trusting relationships with pupils who rely on steady, encouraging adults What the school is looking for A patient, caring person who genuinely wants to help young people thrive Someone who communicates well and builds rapport naturally A calm presence, even when pupils find things difficult Experience in care, SEN, youth work or coaching is helpful but not essential A team player who’s flexible, positive and ready to learn The right attitude matters more than lots of experience.
