Senior Research Nurse – Site Manager (Mobile Research Unit)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Nurse to lead the delivery of a clinical research study based on the Wirral. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of a mobile research site, staff and participant activity.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Research Nurse ready to step into a senior site leadership position while remaining clinically involved in study delivery.
Role Overview
You will oversee the operational delivery of a clinical research study, ensuring the site runs safely, efficiently and in line with protocol and Good Clinical Practice. You will lead a small team, manage site logistics and act as the senior clinician on site when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the daily running of the research site
* Supervise and support research nurses and site staff
* Deliver participant visits and clinical care as required
* Ensure compliance with study protocols and GCP
* Maintain site files, logs and regulatory documentation
* Oversee rotas, scheduling and site logistics
* Support recruitment and retention targets
* Act as the primary on-site contact for operational issues
* Support monitoring visits, audits and reporting
Essential Experience
* Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
* Minimum 2 years’ clinical research experience
* Strong understanding of ICH-GCP
* Experience supervising or mentoring staff
* Experience delivering clinical trials
* Able to work independently and manage site operations
Desirable
* Community or mobile research experience
* Experience in metabolic, obesity or lifestyle studies
* Experience managing staff rotas or site coordination
* Familiarity with electronic data capture systems
Other Requirements
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to travel locally if required
* Flexible approach to working hours
