We are looking for an experienced Chartered Engineer to provide specialist advice and guidance for the protection of people and property in flood risk areas across Yorkshire. The role offers the opportunity to lead asset management of statutory reservoirs, flood embankments and other large civil structures and to support the development of junior engineers.
Responsibilities
* Provide independent supervision for critical assets and reservoirs.
* Lead engineering teams on asset refurbishment and investment programme decisions.
* Mentor and coach junior staff, supporting professional development.
* Respond to incidents and support business continuity during emergencies.
* Co‑operate with a national network of Catchment Engineers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Engineering qualification and Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer status.
* Strong communication and customer focus skills.
* Health, Safety & Environmental knowledge/experience.
* Technical leadership experience.
Desirable but not essential
* Flood Risk Management knowledge.
* Reservoir construction/management experience.
* Practical experience in managing assets.
* Contract Management experience within construction sector.
Practical Requirements
* Full UK driving licence.
* Institution of Civil Engineers membership (role specific).
Benefits & Working Arrangements
* Salary: £54,940 plus a Market Forces Factor allowance of £6,000 for CEng status.
* Hybrid working with some days at York or Leeds offices and site visits across Yorkshire.
