Public Sector - Interim Internal Audit
The Interim Internal Auditor will provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to evaluate and improve the organisation's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes during a transitional period. This role ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while identifying areas for operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Audit Planning & Execution:
* Develop and deliver a risk-based audit plan for the interim period.
* Conduct end-to-end audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes.
* Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
* Risk & Compliance:
* Identify, assess, and report on key risks across the business.
* Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and corporate policies.
* Reporting & Recommendations:
* Prepare clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.
* Present findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.
* Monitor follow-up on agreed actions and remediation plans.
* Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with management to strengthen controls and improve processes.
* Build effective working relationships across finance, operations, and other departments.
