Neway International are seeking SEN Case Officers to join our client London Borough of Bexley.
Location: Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7AT, Hours: 36 per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 17:00), Start Date: 15 December 2025, Duration: 16 Weeks (4-month contracts), Pay Rates: PAYE £21.16 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £28.45 per hour, Work Pattern: Hybrid working – minimum 1 day per week office-based if possible.
About the Client
The London Borough of Bexley’s Children’s Services directorate is dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The SEND Service works in partnership with families, carers, and education providers to ensure learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) receive the support they need to thrive.
The Role
As SEN Case Officer, you will play a vital role in administrating and managing the statutory assessment and review process for children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND. You will liaise with schools, professionals, and families to ensure needs are met effectively and statutory deadlines are achieved. The focus of this temporary role will be supporting the SEN team with statutory phase transfers ahead of the February 2026 deadline, as well as annual review processing.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage statutory assessment and review processes for children and young people with EHCPs
* Liaise with schools, families, and professionals to identify and agree the best support pathways
* Support statutory phase transfers and ensure compliance with deadlines
* Contribute to annual review processing and ensure accurate documentation
* Represent the Local Authority within Children’s Education Services for statutory assessments
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the SEND Service to deliver improved outcomes
Candidate Requirements
* Relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent
* Experience working directly within Special Educational Needs (school, local authority, or other education/health/care service)
* Strong knowledge of statutory SEN legislation and processes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support families, education providers, and colleagues
* Highly organised, able to prioritise workloads and manage casework effectively
* Dynamic, hardworking, and a team player with a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for children and young people
