Street Warden (P01358) Starting salary £28,495 with potential progression to £31,649pa on achieving designated skills and experience 37 hours per week - Please see the rota attached Working as part of a professional Street Warden team, you will provide a uniformed presence in the local community to help alleviate the problems associated with nuisance and anti-social behaviour, whilst improving the local quality of life for people living and working in the borough. Working closely with local people, colleagues in the council and other organisations, you will assist in the prevention of criminal activity and environmental damage. You will build good community relations to reassure people, assist with referrals, and business continuity arrangements for the council’s front-line services. A valid UK driving licence is essential as you will be patrolling in marked vans, as well as on foot. You will also carry out the authority’s duty for collecting and dealing with stray and lost dogs, and other associated responsibilities. You will be approachable, a good communicator and an enthusiastic team member. You will be comfortable with taking enforcement action where necessary and be required to maintain current and accurate records of your operational activities daily. Please note employment in this post is subject to continuous satisfactory outcome of a Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level. You will also be expected to achieve accreditation by the Police under the National Community Safety Accreditation Scheme. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post. Closing date for applications is 16 June 2024.
