Our client, a leading Telecommunications company based in London, is currently hiring for a Lead Product Designer (UX/UI) to be part of a cross-functional team playing a pivotal role in influencing the design and development of a design system initiative.The Lead Product Designer participates in the evolution and governance of the global design system, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of our organization while fostering innovation, efficiency, and collaboration across design, product, and technical departments. The role requires a solid foundation in UX/UI digital product design, and an excellent proficiency in Figma and tokens. The candidate will join a transversal and multi-disciplinary design system guild comprising designers and developers, product managers as well as key expertise such as accessibility, eco-design, security and user privacy. ResponsibilitiesConsolidate the system:Audit and evaluate the existing design elements and components across all platforms to identify inconsistencies and areas for improvement.Develop and implement a strategic plan to unify and standardize UI components, design tokens, and patterns, ensuring they align with our brand and usability standards.Establish a scalable architecture for the design system that supports future growth and adaptation and offers a tremendous experience for all design system users. Animate the design communities:Create a vibrant community of practice around the design system by facilitating knowledge sharing, discussions, and collaborative initiatives.Organize regular meetups, workshops, and webinars to engage with design teams globally, share updates, and gather feedback on the design system.Gather feedbacks from design and development teams, as well as experts to iterate and evolve the design system. Training:Develop comprehensive training programs and materials to onboard new designers and developers to the design system.Offer ongoing education opportunities to ensure all teams are up to date with best practices, new components, and system updates.Federate and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and support in their projects and professional development. Crafting components:Lead the design and development of high-quality, reusable UI components, patterns and tokens that meet the needs of a wide range of products and platforms.Work closely with the engineering team to ensure components are technically feasible, accessible, and optimized for performance.Ensure the design system is accessible, responsive, and optimally performing across all platforms. Best collaboration with brand, product, and technical departments:Serve as the primary liaison between the design system team and the brand, product, and technical departments to ensure the design system supports and enhances brand identity and product goals.Establish clear communication channels and collaborative workflows to facilitate the integration of the design system into product development processes.Advocate for design system adoption and adherence, ensuring all product outputs are consistent with the system's standards and guidelines. RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.At least 5 years of experience in UI/UX design.A proven track record of creating and maintaining design systems.Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in design systems, UI/UX design, and visual communication.Excellent proficiency in prototyping with Figma and being able to create extended components, styles and variables along with mastering Figma plug-ins.Understanding of development tools on the web with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for design implementation and of mobile platforms requirements.Deep understanding of Web and mobile UI standards, usability, and accessibility guidelines.Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.Product culture.Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.Passionate about simplifying complex systems into elegant user experiences.Experience in managing and mentoring design teams.Fluent in English, French would be an advantage (C2 / C1 level).Passionate to work in a multicultural and agile environment.This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm.
