Store Protection Officer – Waitrose. Location: Bath. Payrate: £15.64 per hour (breaks unpaid). Guaranteed number of hours per week, permanent position.
Job Summary
Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and/or assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values. Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO with a key focus on customer service. Company funded SIA licence renewal. Fully supported by the NOC and provided with technology such as a body worn camera and incident reporting device. Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.
Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and relevant guidance bodies.
* Engage with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management and use all provided technology, including body cameras and mobile devices, to report incidents.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Proactively review Assignment Instructions, suggesting amendments to improve or enhance service levels.
* Maintain and wear a front‑line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision at all times; complete additional courses required contractually.
* Work systematically and orderly.
* Look out for and immediately report health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Remain alert to threats or changes in the environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative and involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries immediately after any incident, for use in the Incident Report process.
* Follow schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Training & Development
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
* Undertake continuous professional development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key objectives and develop job knowledge.
* Renew licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Qualifications
* Previous security experience.
* SIA Licence.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Energy and enthusiasm.
