Software Development Manager - Permanent
Grade 3 - Delivers medium-term objectives and determines short-term priorities in a professional or senior operational/technical capacity. May manage a small to medium size operational or technical team.

The role in a nutshell: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Software Development Manager to lead and build a small Team designing, developing, and maintaining a robust and scalable ecosystem.
For this role the ideal candidate will need…
* Proven API development experience and in-depth knowledge of API integration technologies e.g. REST, SOAP
* Extensive exposure to secure coding principles e.g. OWASP, Threat Modelling.
* High skills level in the ASP.NET and the .NET ecosystem and tools e.g. C#, Visual Studio, dotnet CLI

A bit about the department: This role is within the Business Technology Solutions & Information Security Department (BTS & InfoSec). This is a central Department delivering end-to-end business/technology change split into 4 functions: Project & Change Delivery, Application Delivery, Infrastructure Delivery & Development Delivery. The purpose of BTS is to guide the Business, give the Business the Change they need and to protect the Business.

* Overseeing end-to-end Integration process
* Influencing & Implementing Development Governance
* Setting clear Team Goals & Objectives
* Defining & Implementing a Roadmap of Software Delivery

* Designing & Developing performant, secure & scalable APIs
* Contributing to our DevOps maturity
* Working with the BTS Management Team to set relevant Strategy and Direction
* Deliver within a highly regulated environment

Key Experience & Skills:
* Proven API Development experience

* Strong experience with automated CICD pipelines e.g. Azure DevOps YAML pipelines
* Familiarity with API Platforms/Tools, e.g. Swagger, Postman
