Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Administrator to join our finance department.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation by assisting with various business and administration tasks.
This position will be responsible for the sales order processing and credit control function, ensuring any overdue balances are highlighted and followed up.
The Business Administrator will contribute to maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely processing of transactions.
This position will report to the Accounts Manager.
East Ferry Timber Limited is a well established, family owned fencing manufacturer. The role is office based working as part of a close knit management team.
Responsibilities
* Take a leading role in sales order processing and inventory set up.
* Assist in managing accounts payable, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and on time.
* Perform data entry tasks related to transactions and maintaining up-to-date internal records.
* Assist with the preparation of reports by gathering and organising relevant data for daily operations.
* Proactive in credit control and pursuing any overdue accounts.
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and provide support for financial queries.
* Manage and reconcile the daily interface of sales and cash posting.
* Knowledge of Sage and Spruce EDI would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided.
* Maintain filing systems for financial documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
* Assisting with general office enquiries via telephone and directing to the correct department.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in office administration or similar role is preferred.
* Understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services desirable.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records is highly desirable.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel packages.

* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, you will have experience in establishing and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. pro active 'can do' approach.
This position reports to the Accounts Manager.
