East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust is looking for an experienced 0–19 Professional Lead (Practice Learning Co‑ordinator) to support and inspire our workforce across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. This county‑wide role plays a vital part in shaping positive learning experiences for SCPHN students, newly qualified practitioners and established staff, with a particular focus on the 5–19 School Nursing pathway.
You’ll work closely with students, practice assessors, HEIs and clinical teams, offering guidance, encouragement and expert leadership to ensure learning environments are welcoming, high quality and evidence‑based. You’ll also support induction, preceptorship and ongoing professional development, helping staff feel confident, supported and valued.

You must be a Registered Nurse and SCPHN (School Nurse) with strong community public health experience and a genuine passion for developing others.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical
* Responsible for the practice placement learning environment for a cohort of pre‑ and post‑registration nurses working within the 0‑19 teams.
* Offer guidance and share expert knowledge to improve outcomes for children and young people within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
* Support the Practice Assessors in their role: support student training and education and complete the written practice assessment.
* Work with staff, other professionals and relevant partners to ensure effective delivery and safe, high‑quality plans of care for the children, young people and their families.
* Engage with all Institutes of Higher Education across the Trust to ensure robust standards of education and training within the practice placements.
* Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for own work, including management of time and resources in line with the NMC code of conduct, Trust Values and Trust Policies.
* Plan, deliver and evaluate packages of training and learning opportunities for all staff working within the 0‑19 teams, in collaboration with partner agencies, inclusive of any local and national policies and procedures.
* Provide up‑to‑date, research and evidence‑based knowledge to support both pre‑ and post‑registration students in their placements.
* Establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
* Foster a culture of research and development within the locality and wider Trust.
* Maintain own safeguarding competencies and support staff to safeguard children in line with local policy and procedure.
* Maintain own clinical standards and support a clinical caseload as required.
* Plan and enable induction of all new staff members in the 0‑19 service across the service.
* Plan and enable bespoke preceptorship arrangements for all newly qualified staff members in the 0‑19 service.
* Lead on identified service improvement projects in line with the service improvement methodology delegated by the clinical lead.
Professional
* Apply analytical skills through specialist knowledge to support the assessment process and share findings with students and staff colleagues.
* Evaluate the care given to assess the quality of the provision through audit to inform service performance.
* Participate in relevant new initiatives, projects or research programmes that are locally or nationally driven.
* Work closely with Clinical Leads and Service Managers to plan, implement and evaluate training to all staff within the 0‑19 integrated teams.
* Be a credible leader and role model, demonstrating good practice and maintaining local, national and professional standards.
* Develop and implement evidence‑based guidelines and standard operating procedures for 0‑19 practitioners as required.
* Engage in clinical audit to inform service performance and support service improvement.
* Attend feedback meetings, business meetings and multi‑agency meetings, ensuring confidentiality and establishing a seamless, holistic service for all children and young people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
* Serve as a source of expertise and knowledge for children, young people and their families and for health professionals, playing a key role in the continued development of the integrated team around the child.
* Participate in developing joint action plans, protocols, pathways, guidelines, procedures and audit to ensure continuous quality improvement of the service.
* Develop effective working relationships with appropriate multi‑agency professionals, and maintain working relationships with children’s agencies from the statutory and voluntary sectors and with Institutes of Higher Education.
* Work together with Team Leads and Safeguarding Leads to provide supervision for staff in accordance with Trust policies.
Communication
* Demonstrate the ability to reconcile conflicting interests that may arise.
* Influence decisions regarding service delivery through leading meetings and facilitating discussion.
* Use well‑developed change management, communication and resilience skills to affect change within the team, understanding the complexities of change while delivering it.
* Use sophisticated communication skills to impart difficult or unwelcome news primarily to staff, e.g., disciplinary, performance and grievance matters.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical colleagues within the service, division and Trust.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners to support integration of services across Cambridge and Peterborough.
* Ensure clients and their carers/families are aware of the standards they would expect from the service.
* Communicate effectively with commissioners as required and agreed with Service Leads.
* Analyse and provide reports and decipher information from data, communicating this information to Service Leads.
