Join our enthusiastic and motivated team to help protect the significant number of protected trees across South Norfolk and Broadland.
Our districts feature varied geography and many protected trees. In this role, you will support all tree-related matters, including assessing trees for protection, processing applications and appeals, and providing specialist advice to planning officers, enforcement teams, the public, and Councillors.
We aim for growth and development, balancing environmental protection with sustainable housing. You will work closely with the Development Management team to ensure important trees are protected and integrated into development plans.
About You
You should have experience in a tree and conservation role, preferably with a Local Planning Authority (LPA). You need to be proactive, a strong team player, and passionate about protecting trees, landscapes, and the environment.
Qualifications required include a professional qualification in Tree/Landscape Management from a recognized body, a national diploma in forestry or arboriculture, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification in arboriculture. We may consider funding studies for candidates with relevant experience but lacking the qualifications.
