An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to join our fast-paced team based at our Peterborough office.
Salary: £27,000 per annum
This is a full-time position, working Sunday to Thursday, with standard hours of 4:00am to 1:00pm.
However, we are seeking a flexible and dependable individual who is able to provide cover for holidays and sickness as required. Shift patterns may vary depending on business needs.

Your Time at Work
As a Transport Planner, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Transport Planning & Daily Operations
- Schedule and execute the daily driver plan, including driver start times, key collection, and paperwork coordination.
- Ensure efficient planning, considering driver hours and block time constraints.
- Monitor the Ticketer system and manage day-to-day cash flow.
- Manage driver shortages by arranging timely cover.
- Respond promptly to issues such as delays, breakdowns, or road concerns, escalating as needed.
- Report vehicle defects and assist in resolving fleet issues.
- Liaise with onsite planning teams to meet client requirements.
- Support other areas of the business, including Operations and Onsite Teams.
Finance & Administration
- Administer Direct Debit mandates and oversee the DD recovery process.
- Maintain accurate cash flow records and ensure deposits are made by month-end.
- Manage petty cash and document all spend.
- Monitor taxi usage to control costs while maintaining service.
- Process invoices for transport services.
- Update records using Microsoft Word and Excel; complete general admin and filing.
Team & Facilities Support
- Support and coordinate the transport team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist the Transport Manager with operational tasks as required.
- Oversee building maintenance and order office supplies, stationery, and uniforms as needed.
Other Duties
- Undertake any additional ad-hoc tasks to support the wider business.
Our Perfect Worker
Our ideal Transport Planner is hard-working, reliable, and has a keen eye for detail with good knowledge of driving hours regulation.
Good written and spoken English and a competent level of math are also required for this role.
Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
