Description The Commercial Administrator supports the commercial team with day‑to‑day administration, documentation, reporting, and coordination. The position is central to maintaining robust audit trails, ensuring compliance with internal governance, and enabling senior commercial staff to focus on strategy, forecasting, and client engagement. LI-JK1 Responsibilities • Maintaining commercial trackers, change logs, and forecasting inputs to ensure accurate, up‑to‑date reporting. • Managing document control for commercial correspondence, approvals, contracts, and subcontract documentation. • Supporting procurement activities through issuing enquiries, logging returns, and preparing comparison schedules under guidance. • Preparing meeting packs, dashboards, and commercial reports for internal reviews. • Ensuring all commercial records are audit‑ready, well‑structured, and compliant with governance expectations (Costain Way). • Assisting with cost capture, timesheet collation, accrual inputs, and basic cost reporting. • Coordinating signatures, approvals, and workflow management across the commercial function. • Supporting the administration of early warnings, compensation events, and risk registers. • Acting as a central point of coordination between commercial, project management, finance, and supply chain teams. Knowledge, Skill, Behaviours and Experience Skills & Experience • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. • Confident using Excel, document management systems, and commercial reporting tools. • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or a similar project‑based environment is beneficial. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure. • Clear communicator who can work collaboratively across disciplines. • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of administrative processes.
