We’re looking for a Civil Engineering Student to join our Transportation team on an Industrial Placement in Buckinghamshire. You will be part of our EKFB business area, working on the HS2 project.

Location: Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire
Starting Salary: £27,976 per annum
Pathway: 12 Months – 40 hrs per week, with the potential to lead onto a Graduate position
Starting date: September 2026

What you will be responsible for
As an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer, you’ll be assisting in the planning and coordination, design and management of construction projects and on-site activities, while managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in civil engineering.
What will your day-to-day duties include?
* Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
* Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
* Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
* Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
* Participating in team meetings and contributing to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2026 - 2027. After your placement, you’ll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2028.
* Strong interest in construction engineering and project management.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
