ER Case Manager

A leading UK organisation operating in a complex, high-profile environment is seeking to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Case Manager to join a high-performing team.
The Role
You will act as a trusted, independent expert managing highly sensitive and business-critical ER casework across a large, unionised, and operationally diverse organisation. With direct influence on reputational risk, cost mitigation, and legal exposure, this is a role for a professional with credibility and gravitas.
You will:
* Lead complex case investigations, disciplinary appeals, whistleblowing matters, and executive complaints.
* Represent the organisation in Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal proceedings, with settlement authority at judicial mediation stages.
* Engage with senior stakeholders including HR Directors, Group Legal, union representatives, and executive leadership.
* Identify trends and proactively support cultural and behavioural improvements.
* Improve line manager capability through identification of development needs and provision of feedback on an individual basis and sharing learning from cases overall with stakeholders.
* Operate with autonomy while embedded within a highly collaborative and high-performing national team.
* Support with project work as required, including supporting change consultations and organisational design implementation.
The Individual
The successful candidate will be a seasoned ER practitioner with:
* In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* A proven track record in managing sensitive, complex, and high-stakes ER matters.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to operate at executive level and with union representatives.
* Effective analysis, judgement and decision-making skills.
* Union experience.
* Ideally CIPD Level 5 or a formal legal/employment law qualification.
