Your role:
You will be joining a busy child focused children’s social care family time team. You will be responsible for supervising family time with children who are looked after by the local authority and their birth parents/extended families. You will be an excellent communicator and have excellent written & observational skills. You will be expected to support with the transportation of children to and from their family time sessions. You will be required to have or be willing to learn the skills to deal with challenging behaviour from both children and adults. You will contribute to a variety of assessments including parenting assessments & sibling assessments. You are required to work within the hours of 7am 7pm.
About you:
You will hold a relevant essential qualification as stated on the job summary; you will be flexible in your approach to your work. You will have the ability to work between the hours of 7am 19.00pm.
Ideally you will have experience of working with children and families in need of help and support, you will have experience of working with families in challenging situations.
You will have the ability to travel borough wide and beyond to fulfil your role.
You will display and promote the councils Be Wigan behaviours.
You will be an excellent communicator, efficient in time management and have excellent written & observational skills as well as a strong team player.
