Job Description
We’re looking for a delivery-focused analytics platform specialist to play a hands-on role in shaping and building a secure, cloud-based data and analytics platform within a complex MOD stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a hands-on platform specialist across a secure, cloud-hosted data and analytics platform
* Contribute directly to build, configuration, and implementation activities
* Support definition of POC scope, success criteria, and value proposition
* Shape the technical path from POC to MVP, considering scalability, security, governance, and reuse
* Contribute to analytics and insight generation, particularly across identity, access, and entitlement datasets
* Data ingestion and transformation
* Analytics and insight generation
* Visualisation and dashboarding
* Access control and environment management
* Work closely with delivery leadership to surface risks and maintain momentum
* Ensure decisions, progress, and artefacts are transparent and shared
* Clearly explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Enable teams to operate independently over time
Technical Environment (Indicative)
* Secure, cloud-hosted analytics workbench
* Notebook-based development (Python / R-style workflows)
* SQL-based querying and transformation
* Dashboarding and Visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Apache Superset or equivalent)
* Cloud-native infrastructure (AWS-based environments)
* Secure multi-user collaboration with governance and auditability
Essential Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms
* Background in data engineering, analytics platforms, or data science enablement
* Proven experience contributing directly to build and implementation
* Experience taking initiatives from POC to MVP or production
* Solid understanding of security, governance, reuse, and scalability
* Ability to cut through complexity and communicate technical trade-offs clearly
