Supporting Young Adults with SEND (Ages 16–25)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming college in Poole that supports students aged 16–25 with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.
The college is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team, providing both general classroom support and one-to-one assistance where needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and eager to help young people reach their full potential — both academically and personally.
The college places great importance on hands-on and outdoor learning, so the ideal candidate will enjoy getting involved in a range of outdoor activities alongside the students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a variety of needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
Promote independence, confidence, and positive relationships among students.
Support students during outdoor and practical learning sessions.
The ideal candidate will:
Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people with SEND.
Have a proactive and flexible attitude.
Be comfortable working outdoors and taking part in physical or activity-based learning.
Have experience in a similar setting (desired but not essential).
