Níall McLaughlin Architects is a practice that designs high-quality modern architecture. We put a strong emphasis on the inventive use of building materials, the qualities of light and the relationship between the building and its surroundings. We consider these issues to be more important than working in a particular style and hope that each project will be an original interpretation of the client, site, brief and budget.
Our award-winning practice is seeking highly motivated and committed Part 1 & 2 Architectural Assistants and freelance modelmakers to join our studio. Successful applicants will work within the practice on new commissions for designs in civic, educational, and residential sectors as well as contributing to architectural exhibitions.
Part 1 and 2 Assistants:
Within your CV and portfolio, we are seeking demonstration of the following skills:
* Highly motivated and strong teamwork skills,
* Strong communication and visual presentation skills,
* highly proficient 3D draughtsmanship and visualisation skills: Rhino, Enscape and V-Ray; Revit is a bonus. Confident use of 3D software during design workshops is advantageous.
* Advanced 2D draughtsmanship: Vectorworks experience preferred,
* Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
* Advanced physical model-making skills.
· Experience preparing presentation material for major planning applications and design competitions is desirable.
Freelance model makers (short term basis):
· The candidate should demonstrate excellent model making skills in a range of materials
· Be able to work to challenging deadlines.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
