Job Description

An experienced IT Manager responsible for leading and managing IT service delivery across the organisation. You will act as the primary operational link between IT and the business, ensuring the delivery of secure, resilient and customer-focused IT services that support organisational priorities. The role combines people leadership, service performance management and strategic input

Description

o Act as the primary operational interface between IT and the business, owning escalations and service issues
o Monitor and manage IT service performance against KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous improvement
o Lead service transition and transformation activities, ensuring continuity and adoption of best practice
o Oversee IT procurement, supplier performance and contract management to ensure value for money
o Manage IT budgets, including financial planning, cost control and business case development
o Lead on IT and digital cybersecurity, compliance and governance, ensuring legislative and regulatory adherence
o Implement and maintain IT service management frameworks including incident, problem, change and service desk operations
o Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enable effective, secure use of technology
o Develop and deliver the IT and digital strategy aligned to organisational objectives
o Manage, motivate and develop IT staff, ensuring skills and capacity meet future demand
o Oversee live streaming and associated technology for Council meetings, ensuring reliable delivery

Profile

A successful IT Service Manager should have:

o Significant experience managing IT Infrastructure and driving service levels
o Proven leadership experience managing IT teams and service performance - including helpdesk management
o Experience delivering IT service transition, transformation and supplier management
o Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks and best practice (e.g. ITIL)
o Experience developing and delivering IT and digital strategy
o Proven ability to manage IT budgets, procurement and contracts
o Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance and IT governance
o Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage risk, change and performance
