A specialist healthcare service is seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team on an 18-bed male and female Eating Disorder Ward. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services in a safe and supportive environment, focused on helping patients live their best life. What you’ll be doing You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using a personalised, evidence-based approach to support recovery. Key responsibilities include: Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and developing a therapeutic environment. Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Supervising referral and admission processes, including contributing to pre-admission assessments. Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment. Participating in management and clinical governance meetings and contributing to service development and strategy. Further information is available in the attached job description. What you’ll bring to the role The role is rewarding but challenging, requiring resilience, empathy, and flexibility. No two days are the same. The ideal candidate will: Be a strong team player with experience in multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and management planning. Hold full GMC registration, be on the relevant Specialist Register, and provide evidence of registration when required. Hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in the appropriate area of Psychiatry.
