Head of Delivery – Western & Wales Location: Home based, with national travel in the Midlands, South West of England & Wales. Working pattern/hours: Full time & permanent. Normal working hours are 35 per week, excluding 1-hour main meal break. Salary: Up to £76,000 depending on skills & experience. About the role Job Purpose: The Head of Delivery is responsible for the successful delivery of apprenticeship provision in the region. They will lead several high-performance delivery teams to ensure that all apprentices experience the best possible learner journey and complete their apprenticeship on time and to budget. They will be responsible for ensuring JTL training centres are run efficiently, and subcontracted provision is delivered to the required standard. Prepare and deliver a Regional business plan to meet the objectives set out in the corporate Business Plan, through to delivery of agreed KPIs, financial performance, resources, and staff performance. Manage multifunctional teams to ensure that all aspects of the learner journey are standardised across the region (and with colleagues nationally) and delivered to the standard set by the Quality and Curriculum teams. Lead a delivery team in Wales, ensuring adherence to contracts and Service Level Agreements with Consortia leads and maintaining a high-quality learner experience. Improve the end point assessment first time pass rate to meet the targets set out in the business plan. Work with the Head of Engagement to support the starts process and other transactional changes. Contribute to the work produced by the Quality and Curriculum Teams that set out the learner journey and the standard expected to be delivered by JTL. Ensure the highest standards of Safeguarding, adhering to all policies and procedures. Ensure that there is clear and regular communication with employers on the progress of their apprentice/s. Ensure that all JTL Centres are optimised with learner numbers based on the capacity available reducing the reliance on the sub-contracted provision. Manage the delivery of sub-contracted provision within the region, ensuring regular performance management meetings (based on risk) and early intervention, where required, to ensure the contract is adhered to. Lead on the management of relationships with any key stakeholders or large employers operating within the region. Build and maintain good working relationships with external parties, attending and assisting with relevant networks, events and committees to promote JTL and provide feedback to the Director of Operations on external developments of importance to JTL. These include but are not limited to ECA, JIB, LSIPs and careers events. Maintain an awareness of developments in JTL’s products and services ensuring professional knowledge is always up to date across the team. Ensure readiness at any time for external inspection or audit at any time. Share good practice across JTL based on delivery experience and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality and processes to ensure achievement of KPIs. Member of JTL’s senior leadership team (SLT) Participate and lead on key improvements projects or as required. Person specification Educated to HNC level or equivalent with 6 good O Levels/GCSEs or equivalent including maths and English (A-C) Proven management experience with responsibility of large teams over a geographic area Management against KPIs and working across an organisation in a matrix style Excellent IT skills including use of databases/dashboards for performance information Excellent communication and presentation skills Valid driving licence and access to a car Reasonable access across the regional area Working knowledge or experience of work-based learning and Government funded training provision with the rules and associated regulations Experience of remote management Desirable: Have a working knowledge of the building services engineering and/or related industry Specific teaching or assessor trade qualification in either electrical or plumbing qualifications.
