Role Overview
Medical Laboratory Assistants perform technical, administrative, and clerical tasks within the laboratory reception area. Key responsibilities include processing samples, preparing samples for analysis, registering patient information onto Laboratory Information Systems, ensuring accurate sample identification and documentation, and safe disposal of clinical waste. You will also handle telephone queries from staff and external agencies and assist Biomedical Scientists in providing laboratory services.
Qualifications
Applicants should have 3 Highers at Grade C or above, including Chemistry or Biology along with Maths, or SVQ3, or have completed a modern apprenticeship in Life Sciences or equivalent accredited education/learning.
Shift Pattern
Monday to Sunday, with variable hours between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.
